Great Training Book!

Not the best training method.

I read this book and then threw it away. This is a method that should be only attempted by experienced horsemen. No novice should try it. This training is too grueling and abusive in the wrong hands. People not familiar with the stresses that can occur while conditioning a racehorse may miss signs they should stop and address the problem. Unfortunately, I've seen it happen to horses that as a result, never raced. The only 'common sense' training is slow and careful building of a foundation that allows the horse to mature physically and mentally. I recommend reading books featuring the old timers approach, like Preston Burch. My experience came from learning from people like him, and I consider myself lucky.
