Great under-grad level textbook

If you are an astronomy or astrophysics major, and want to learn about one of the most studied types of exoplanets, this book is for you. What I like are the concept questions in each section. There's no "chapter" exercises, but the questions given throughout each section help to reinforce the key concepts.

great series

okay before you go any further let me make sure you don't do the same mistake I did. I, like any other moron who didn't bother to look closely, assumed that this was only the final book in the series, when it's actually all the books. so now i own all the seperate books and this collection too. just thought you should know in case you didn't already.

other than that the series was pretty good. It reads alittle weird though, like a childs movie, but that's probably because it was written for children. I think this book is good because it helps children get to understand spiritual stuff and realize how powerful God really is.

This was well written with a well formulated plot! The story moves along at a fast pace keeping the reader wondering what will happen next... There is the usual Bill Myers quirky humor mixed with the serious themes of spiritual warfare and the power of prayer. Great for kids!

~~Low Fat Fettuccine Alfredo Sauce!~~

This recipe book has a nice variety of Fettuccine Alfredo recipes included....ten in all but a nice selection to choose from.

I appreciate the fact that the author uses low fat ingredients at times and also includes low sodium. The one that caught my attention is the Fettuccine Low Fat Alfredo Sauce. Low Fat milk, egg yolk, parmesan cheese, of course the fettuccine, butter and a low fat cottage cheese. I don't own a food processor but I used my hand mixer on low to mix most of the ingredients for about 45 seconds. Then, I added the low fat cottage cheese with a small spatula to the mix. Back to the mixer for a short spin and it was done... I loved the taste of this recipe and will make it again.

Combining free verse and metered poems, her latest collection aims to recreate a palpable sense of the Riel Resistance period and evoke the geographical, linguistic/cultural, and political situation of Batoche during this time through the eyes of those who experienced the battles, as well as through the eyes of Gabriel and Madeleine Dumont and Louis Riel.

Included in this collection are poems about the bison, seed beadwork, and the Red River Cart, and some poems employ elements of the Michif language, which, along with French and Cree, was spoken by Dumont’s ancestors. About the Author
Marilyn Dumont’s poetry has won provincial and national awards. She has been the writer-in-residence at five Canadian universities and the Edmonton Public Library as well as an advisor in the Aboriginal Emerging Writers Program at the Banff Centre. She teaches sessional creative writing for Athabasca University and Native studies and English for the University of Alberta. She lives in Edmonton, Alberta.

A pull of the bow across the string of the fiddle

I don't often start a review by saying that a book reminded me of something else, but this gorgeous book of poetry was accompanied by a haunting song that I heard sung live several years ago. The Wailin Jennys introduced a song that they had recently written called "Starlight." The women explained that, in their native province, scandal had broken when it had been revealed that police were picking up First Peoples' women late at night, and leaving them to die in the cold miles from home.

The words of Marilyn Dumont's THE PEMMICAN EATERS feel like the pull of the bow across the string of the fiddle, the high notes hit by a woman in childbirth, the clutch at one's heart when one hears bad news. The words are gorgeous as the matters they call to mind are hard to think with, hard to let in; for me, I needed the melody of someone else's song so that I could try to translate how Dumont's words made me feel.

Rather than quote from a poem out of context, even though the words are capable of standing on their own, I will suggest that you purchase this book and support the work of this artist.

At present, the latter option is mainly chosen because theoretical predictions have yet to reach the level of significance necessary for as a base for important decisions.Nevertheless, due to cost pressure and environmental considerations,great emphasis is placed on constantly improving simulation methods.
Filling a gap in the literature and all set to become the standard in this field, this monograph begins with a look at computational viscoelastic fluid mechanics and studies of turbulent flows of dilute polymer solutions. It then goes on discuss simulations of nanocomposites, polymerization kinetics, computational approaches for polymers and modeling polyelectrolytes. Further sections deal with tire optimization, irreversible phenomena in polymers, the hydrodynamics of artificial and bacterial flagella as well as modeling and simulation in liquid crystals.

About the Author
Puru Gujrati obtained his PhD in theoretical physics from Columbia University in New York, NY, USA. Following post-docs at Yeshiva University in New York, Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA, and the University of Chicago, IL, he joined the University of Akron in 1983, where he is currently Professor of Physics and Polymer Science. He has received several fellowships, chaired sessions at international symposia, and is a member of the American Physical Society, Sigma Xi, and the New York Academy of Sciences. Professor Gujrati has published about seventy papers, several book chapters and review articles, and has presented around 100 papers. He has refereed for various scientific journals, state and federal agencies in the USA, as well as European and Australian agencies.

Arkady I. Leonov obtained his two PhD degrees in fluid mechanics and mathematical physics from two research institutes at the Soviet Academy of Sciences in Moscow. Upon arrival in the USA in 1987, he worked in California as a visiting scientist at Stanford University and at the IBM Almaden Research Center, San Jose, CA, before joining the University of Akron in 1988. Dr. Leonov has about 200 scientific papers, three book chapters and four books to his name, and is an honorary member of the British Society of Rheology.
